GENERAL INFO

•   There will be an honors English 9 meeting today at lunch in A-204.  Bring your assignment and be ready to discuss. 

•   THE SMILE MOBILE - free and low cost dental care - Coming back to Port Townsend March 5 - 9.  Schedule an exam by calling 888-286-9105.   More information in the Counseling Office.

•   Creator’s Café at the Port Townsend Public Library – Learn how to make Bath Bombs. All supplies provided – Wednesday, February 28, 3 - 4 pm.

•   Visitor Parking is for visitors to our school. Students are not to park in the visitor parking spots.

•   Redhawk Brew is open every day at lunch now! Stop by for your Java!

•   Lost & Found items: Check the Lost and Found items in the box outside the Main Office. This included items left in the gym that were brought over. 

•   After-School Workouts are held Monday through Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30 pm in the high school weight room. Everyone is welcome!

•     Yearbook club is looking for your photos of people, events, you and your friends, or any PTHS moments. Submit them to Sarah Marx at  21s.marx@ptschools.org by March 1.

SENIORS

•   Seniors - Back by Popular Demand! Scholarship Workshop - bring your applications, rough drafts and questions to a working session in the library 7th period, February 21.  Scholarship lists, chrome books will be available.

•     Sign up for your graduation walking partners with Jan in the Main Office.

•   Graduation products delivered: There will be a senior meeting on Friday, March 30 at 10:55 am in the auditorium to pick up your graduation products (not including caps and gowns).  Please make checks payable to National Achiever Services for your balances.

•   Performing at Graduation: Any seniors who are interested in performing at graduation, please sign up with Jan in the Main Office by Wednesday, April 25. All performers in any group must be seniors. Auditions will be in May in the orchestra room.

•   Seniors Scholarship Opportunity - Olympic Driftwood Sculptors is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for the Visual Art Scholarship.  The scholarship is worth $2,000 and is available to current 12th grade art students at any public, private or home-school on the North Olympic Peninsula.  A student eligible for consideration for this scholarship must be pursuing a major or minor in visual arts and be accepted into an accredited visual arts college/institution.   The student will need to submit the scholarship application and examples of their art. The application is available online at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2EcGehFdOrPMGlCZTFCZnVzOGM/view?usp=sharing  Please be aware that the application form needs to be downloaded or you will not be able to fill out the form online, save it and email it. The hard copy application and directions can also be found in the counseling office. Visual arts can include the following:  Studio Art (2D or 3D, Photography, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, Animation, Multimedia or Art Education. The scholarship application and supporting  materials (pegs) need to be emailed on or before 11:59 pm on 4-15-2018 or the flash drive with the scholarship application and jpegs need to be received in the regular mail on or before 4-15-2018.

                                                                 SPORTS

•   Girls Basketball team is dismissed at 2:30 pm for a 2:45 departure for Mount Vernon for their playoff game. Good Luck to the Lady Redhawks!!

•   Girls, come on out for the softball team! Turn your forms in at ASB. Practices start on February 26th and your paperwork has to be turned in before your can practice. Looking for a total of 15 students to get off to a great start!

•   It's time to get ready for the upcoming Spring Sport season.  Monday, 2/26, is coming fast! Here's what we have: Boys’ Baseball, Boys’ & Girls’ Track & Field, Girls’ Softball, Boys’ Soccer, Boys’ & Girls’ Golf & Girls’ Tennis at Chimacum. Make sure you have a sports physical on file and go pick up paperwork from Samantha at the ASB office or download it from the website, under Sports. If you have questions, go see Ms. Lysa in room M-301!

•   Spring Girls’ Tennis? Forms are available online at http://www.csd49.org/athletics. Cost is $80. You must have a Port Townsend ASB Card. Coach Dave Porter can be reached at david_porter@csd49.org or 360-302-5923. Practice will start on 2/26/18 at 3:30 on the CHS Tennis Courts. 

•   Any girls interested in playing spring tennis, sign up on the list outside Jan’s window by the Main Office. See Ms. Lysa Falge in M-301 with questions.

•   If you are interested in attending the Peninsula College Soccer Camp on February 25, sign the list on the ledge outside Jan’s office. Pick up the info and permission form that just arrived.

 •   PLEASE NOTE: PTHS sports practices/training cannot begin before 3:30 so athletes can get help after school, if needed. The gym will open at 3:25 pm. 

•    After-School Workouts are held Monday through Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30 pm in the high school weight room. All are welcome. Earn shirts & hats.
