Convenient health services for adolescents, located at Port Townsend High School in the Gael Stuart Building. PTHS School-Based Health Center (SBHC) is one of over 30 SBHCs in WA state.

Services include: illness/injury assessments, Sports physicals, immunizations, reproductive health care, family/ relationship issues, stress management, mental health counseling, health education and other preventative care. 

Our staff is trained to understand and treat the special health care needs of teens and includes: a Nurse Practitioner, a Mental Health Counselor, and an Office Assistant. 

We coordinate your teen’s care with community health care providers where appropriate, including the school nurse & local physicians.

 Mental Health services - Megan Smith
Monday & Friday - 8 am - 3 pm

For medical services the SBHC bills private insurance, Apple Health, or Medicaid, and offer a sliding fee scale. SBHC mental health services are funded by Jefferson Co. Mental Health/ Substance Abuse Tax (1/10th of 1% of local sales tax) under a contract with Jefferson Mental Health Service. SBHC does not currently bill for mental health services.

Need health insurance? Our staff will evaluate your qualifications for Apple Health, a state insurance program that provides medical, dental, and vision benefits.

No student will be turned away due to inability to pay.
