High School Elevator Project

On February 21, 2019 the school board approved a construction contract for two elevators to be added to the high school campus. These elevators will provide ADA access to both the main building, and the annex building where science, math and some language arts classrooms are located. This project is funded from a combination of the recently passed capital levy and the 2016 bond.

Construction is scheduled to begin March 11, 2019, and completed in September 2019. There will be no modifications being made to classrooms, and all classes will be able to continue during the project with minimal disruption. The main parking lot, off of Van Ness Street will be closed to accommodate construction. Additional parking is available in the parking lot accessed from Blaine Street, as well as angled street parking on Pierce Street. Temporary signage will be posted around the campus throughout the project to indicate entrances and walkways.

Temporary fencing will be placed to keep students and community members safely outside of the construction areas. Additionally, some student restrooms will be temporarily closed during the construction.  Students will have restroom access, although it may be on other floors or in another building.  The high school will communicate with students around restroom closure, through our daily bulletin.
