PARENT COMMUNICATION FROM PRINCIPAL EHRHARDTUpdate
April 29, 2020

Hello Parents,
This is a message from Port Townsend High School Principal Carrie Ehrhardt. Washington State has provided high schools with new guidance around the grading of high school classes for our second semester. There are two documents I am asking you to review. The first document is called
PTHS Grading Guidelines for Parents, which outlines the specific rules that teachers will follow in assigning the grades for this second semester at PTHS. The second document is a Frequently Asked Questions for Parents, which answers some basic questions you may have in regards to the new grading guidelines. The most important message in both of these memos, is that students are expected to engage in their learning, throughout the remainder of the school year, and that students who do engage have the opportunity to raise their current grades. Thank you.
