Prop. No. 1 – Bonds to Renovate Aging Schools and Improve Safety is Passing!

Great news! Preliminary results from the Special Election show our school bond measure Prop. No. 1 – Bonds to Renovate Aging Schools and Improve Safety passing with 70% voter approval. This bond will fund renovations of our historic Port Townsend High School and create a permanent home for our OCEAN K-12 Alternative School. With this campus refresh, students will have safer and more accessible places to learn, teachers will have modern classrooms to elevate their instruction and we ALL will have a vibrant gathering space to come together in the heart of our community.

We are humbled by the continued support of our community. Once again, you have stepped up to say education, schools and young people are a priority. We are committed to being responsible stewards of the resources you have entrusted to us. The priorities identified by the Board of Directors and the Facilities Advisory Committee will guide our investments and projects, and we will continue to provide a transparent, public process to ensure funds are used effectively and in alignment with community expectations.

We are grateful for the thoughtful conversations that have taken place throughout this process, including at campus tours, community forums, listening sessions and outreach events. These discussions strengthen our work and reflect the shared commitment we have to our students and schools.

Thank you for your trust, partnership and investment in our students, staff and the future of PT Schools. Stay tuned for ways to get involved in this exciting process at www.ptschools.org/page/bond2026.

Sincerely,

Linda Rosenbury
