For more than 50 years, the Christmas 4 Children program has helped ensure that every child in Jefferson County experiences the joy of the holiday season. Started in 1974 by the Port Townsend Kiwanis Club, the program provides supplemental Christmas gifts to local families in need. Today, it serves more than 500 children and 250 families each year through the support of community donors, local businesses, and volunteers.
The effort is a true community partnership, connecting the Port Townsend Kiwanis Club with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, local food banks, DSHS, Dove House, the YMCA, and area schools.
Families in need of assistance, and community members interested in volunteering, can learn more and sign up by visiting the Christmas 4 Children program website at ptkiwanis.org/kids-christmas-projects. Sign ups accepted through Friday, December 5, 2025. Late sign ups / walk-ins will be welcome on Sunday, December 14 only.
Those looking for a great way to support the cause can also help Fill the Bus for Toys for Tots on December 6 at one of the two locations:
Safeway parking lot in Port Townsend
1st Security Bank parking lot in Port Hadlock
