Today’s schedule: 6 period day today – lunch today – Mac & Cheese, T – Beef & Bean Burritos, W- Chicken Noodle Soup & Deli Sandwich, TH-Sun Butter Noodles & F - Hamburger

·    Thanks to a generation grant from the PTEF, all high school students and staff have a free digital subscription to the New York Times for a full year. Look for an email from Ms. Wentzel coming today. Sign up is easy. If you have issues or questions, please visit her in the PTHS Library. Happy reading!

·    Drama Opportunity - Key City Public theatre after-school theatre program for PTHS students starting Wednesday, October 27, in the auditorium.  Permission form in the office that must be completed, signed and turned into the office prior to starting the program.  Cost is only $25, or free if you are on free/reduced meals.  

·  Smarter Balanced State Exams, grades 9, 11, and 12, week of November 1-5.  Please make sure you are in school daily to participate in required exams.  Teachers will have lists next week, which will tell you which testing group you will participate in.  Most testing will occur on Tuesday, November 2 - Thursday, November 4.


·      Redhawk Review meeting today in the library right after school! Come if you're interested in submitting any work, joining the staff, or just want to learn more about the club. :)

·      If you missed the Senior Meeting come to the office for your packet.

·      The ASVAB is scheduled for November 3 for Juniors. Sign up in Counseling.

·      College Planning Support – College search, Application help, financial aid, SAT prep, etc. Contact Ms. Dow @

·      Homework & credit recovery help M-TH (except early release), library,3:15-4:30.

·      Students for Sustainability Tuesdays 7:45am – more info to come.

·      Knowledge Bowl Block Tuesdays, lunch, (after you eat), Fridays after school, M-305.

·      Key Club and Interact Club Wednesday Block in the tent at lunch.

·      ASB meetings, Wednesdays @ 7:30 in the Commons.

Art Club - Art Club Thursdays at 3:15-4:30 in the Art Portable. Open to all students who have taken art within the last 3 years. Questions? email Ms Soderstrom:

·       The Washington State Fair Foundation’s Blue Ribbon Scholarships opens 11/1/2021 - deadline 1/31/2022. Visit their webpage to view the video and for information regarding the Washington State Fair Foundations mission to EDUCATE, PRESERVE & IMPROVE the Fair for generations to come.

·      Elks Most Valuable Student Award – Deadline November 1

·      Seattle University Sullivan Leadership.  See a counselor if you are interested in Seattle University after graduation.  Deadline November 15.

·      2021 Elks Legacy Award – Deadline February 7, 2022

·      Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship - Deadline March 10. 2022. Open to students planning to attend Vocational, Community College or University.  Deadline March 10. 2022. 

·      Rainier Olympic Nurses Association - deadline March 31, 2022.

Joke of the day: Why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was outstanding in his field.


·       If you are sick with a fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, fatigue, headache, muscle or body aches, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea – PLEASE STAY HOME! If you are out of school with any of these symptoms, call school to let us know.

·       Wear your mask at all times unless eating and drinking @ lunch. When your mask is off at lunch, you should be 6 feet apart from others.

·       During the day, maintain 3 feet of distance from others and don’t hang out in closed settings like the restroom. Wash your hands frequently!
